Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 July 2026
This policy describes exactly what AlbumAlive collects and why, in plain language. It covers two kinds of people: studios (account holders) and guests (people who scan a photo or record a wish).
If you are a guest scanning a photo
- Scanning needs no app, no account, and no personal details.
- The camera runs entirely on your phone to detect the photo. Nothing your camera sees is recorded or uploaded, ever.
- We count anonymous events (a scan happened, a video played) so the studio can see totals. A random token in your browser helps count unique devices over 30 days; it identifies no one, stores no location, and we use no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics.
- If you record a voice blessing or video wish, we store the recording and the name you type, only when you press send. It becomes publicly playable only after the studio approves it, and the studio or we can remove it at any time. Recordings that are never approved stay private and are deleted on a schedule.
If you are a studio
- Account data: name, email, and optionally phone, city, GSTIN, Instagram handle, and a logo. Shown to your guests where the product says so (your name, logo, and contact on guest screens).
- Content: the photos and videos you upload, and the assets we derive from them (previews, print files, QR codes, depth maps).
- Billing: handled by Razorpay. We store what you bought and your credit ledger; we never see or store card or bank details.
- We do not sell or share your data with advertisers. Nobody sees your content except you, your guests via the links you print, and us when operating the service.
Where data lives and how long
- Media is stored on Cloudflare R2 (a global storage network) and our servers; the database runs on our server with nightly encrypted backups.
- Raw uploaded files are deleted 30 days after processing. Published content stays as long as your experience is live.
- Account deletion removes your media from storage, disables your published links, and anonymises your records. The financial ledger is kept as required for accounting.
Your rights
You can access and correct your data in the dashboard, and request an export or deletion by email. Consent for guest recordings is given by the act of recording and sending; approval control rests with the studio, and removal requests from anyone appearing in a recording are honoured. This policy is written to align with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
